Friday the 12^th of March saw Aquinas College looking the best it ever has.

Over 70 students from the Middle and Senior schools took to the grounds with gloves on and eyes peeled for any sign of rubbish.

The good news was that not a lot of rubbish was found. The bags came back half full and the ute that is used for the larger items was barely needed. The fence around the college is having a big impact on people not coming onto the college grounds and dumping rubbish.

This year saw a fantastic mix of both Senior School and middle school students joining in. It was great to see all the Senior School Service Leaders down assist the younger students with what to do and then to take out the College dinghy’s, to clean up under the Mt Henry bridge. This place collects a lot of rubbish and it is difficult to get to via the track on the point. A large amount of rubbish was able to be carried by the boats.

This year we invited the Santa Maria girls to come along. A big thank you must go out to Matthew Fimmel for organising and promoting the event so well. The initial interest was good, however with the swimming carnival and their production at that time they eventually decided it was too much. This was a great initiative and hopefully, something will come of it next year.

The cinnamon scrolls from the canteen were a big hit and thanks must go to the canteen staff, who hand made them on the day and also to Browne’s for donating the drinks.
