Junior School Visual Arts
Thank you to the Junior School Visual Arts for their donation of two amazing artworks.
The first piece, the Pastel Mandala Drawing was produced by Aquinas students in Pre-Primary. Using Mandalas and the Indian culture as inspiration, students created a group oil pastel piece reminiscent of a Mandala. The project was guided by Mandala research, and the design elements used within the piece. Students engaged with the process of interpreting colour, pattern and texture associated with the chosen image. In Hinduism and Buddhism, the belief is that by entering the Mandala and proceeding towards its centre, you are then guided through the spiritual process of transforming the universe from one of suffering into one of joy and happiness. Dimensions : 1.3 x 1.3mtrs - square.
Value: Priceless
The second piece, a Tom Roberts Impressionist Painting – ‘Holiday Sketch At Coogee” – was produced by Aquinas students in Year 4. This piece is an interpretation of a Tom Roberts impressionist work; Tom Roberts meets Aquinas Junior School! Students analysed and developed practical ideas on how to manipulate and mix paint that were necessary to complete their group painting. They researched painting techniques from the time period as well as playing with size, shape and scale. This piece demonstrates that we can use past art movements to inspire new work. Dimensions: 1 x 1.5mtrs – rectangle.

The Foundation is pleased to announce that our MC for the Foundation Ball Live Auction on 4 September is Old Boy Josh Brockhurst (’92), Principal and Licensee at Century 21 Team Brockhurst.
Josh entered the real estate business in 2001, following a football injury that finished his career as a professional angler, taking his first job with Access Realty in South Perth. In his first year in real estate, Josh sold 28 houses. Between 2002 and 2009, he mastered his craft working alongside skilled Agents in the high-profile offices of Ferguson Hartree Fox White and Real Estate Champions, where his sales numbers continued to grow, resulting in Charles Tarbey, chairperson of CENTURY 21 Australasia, approaching him to open his own office.
In August 2009, Josh opened the doors to Century 21 Team Brockhurst at the Forest Lakes Forum in Thornlie. He began his business selling residential property with just himself and a personal assistant, but it wasn’t long before his team grew. Fast forward to today and Josh has moved his office to Huntingdale, where he took on a growing rental portfolio in 2019 and now employs 6 sales reps, 5 admin staff and 2 property management team members.
The liberation in operating his own agency has seen Josh specialise in selling properties throughout the Perth Metropolitan Area, boasting sales in over 250 suburbs. In recent times, Josh has cast his net further into rural and remote WA, selling property as far north as Broome and south as far as Bremer Bay. Josh credits the power of establishing diverse support from a driven sales team, coupled with a strong administrative support team, as the key to his success in providing a tailored and expert service to his clients.
We look forward to an exciting live auction on 4 September!
